New city, same result. The Kings earned their fourth straight preseason victory on Thursday night, defeating the Boston Bruins 4-1 in Quebec City. In the first of two games the Kings will play at the Videotron Centre, home of the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL. The Kings started the trip to Quebec strong and played another strong 60 minutes. The Kings held an NHL-expected Bruins team to just 14 shots in the game while producing 26 shots of their own.

It was a grueling first half for both teams, but after 20 minutes the game was scoreless and the Kings led 11-2 in the shooting department.

In the second third, both teams' offenses got going, but within just 35 seconds. Shortly after the middle of the game, it was Quinton Byfield who scored the first goal. A shot from Brandt Clarke brought Kevin Fiala and Byfield into a 2-on-1 duel. Fiala then fed Byfield for a weak one-timer to give the Kings a 1-0 lead. Byfield then continued his shift and scored his second goal of the game with a net-front puck battle win. The Bruins, now up 2-0, wasted no time in fighting back. Just 15 seconds after Byfield's second goal, Patrick Brown separated the Kings defenders in the neutral zone and beat David Rittich with a shot into the slot. After 40 minutes it was 2-1 for the Kings.

The Kings finished the final 20 minutes with two more goals and didn't allow any on the defensive side of the ice. Like the duo in their final preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks, Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe teamed up to score another one-time goal. This was the opposite of their goal against the Ducks, it was Kopitar who set up Kempe for the shorthanded goal in 4:51 minutes. Just over three minutes later, Byfield struck again with an in-tight chip, completing the hat trick.

Rittich played all 60 minutes in net for the Kings and stopped 13 of the Bruins' 14 shots.

The Kings will conclude their preseason on Saturday against the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers in Quebec City. Then it starts the regular season.
