Friendship Bracelets and Eyeliner: The Internet Reacts to the Vance-Walz Debate | US elections 2024 Israel could target revenge attacks on Iranian oil refineries | Israel

Fox News' Jesse Watters didn't even bother to focus on JD Vance's rhetorical performance during Tuesday's vice presidential debate against Tim Walz, instead focusing on a single topic: his looks.

“He looked beautiful tonight,” Watters told a Fox News panel after the debate ended. “He looked humble. He looked serious and sharp – 20 years younger than Walz.”

Watters' comments were part of a flood of praise from Fox personalities for Vance's performance on Tuesday, which earned him praise for his composure compared to some of Walz's verbal gaffes as he befriended school shooters and acknowledged that he was for his comments about being a “knuckler” in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Republican maneuver the smug and arrogant bias of these moderators so deftly. “Almost every question was aimed at making Republicans’ views on child care look bad,” said opinion anchor Laura Ingraham. “And yet Vance seemed to take everything in stride and really showed us his humanity and expertise on most questions. I don't think he could have done any better under the circumstances. I think that really reassures the public.”

Dana Perino agreed: “You can understand why Democrats spent all week trying to lower expectations for Walz. The only problem for the Democrats is that they underperformed because expectations should have been even lower.”

However, Watters acknowledged that despite Walz's stumbles, Republicans couldn't completely rule out Kamala Harris' campaign.

“Walz didn’t have a terrible night,” he said. “He didn’t mess up The bad. He had a few moments, but I'm sure the Democrats are reasonably happy with it. No blood was drawn, but in such a close race I think JD performed well.”
