Creighton volleyball faced its toughest test in Big East play on Tuesday night and passed it with flying colors.

The No. 6 Jays defeated Marquette 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 25-12 in a nationally televised matchup at Sokol Arena, dominating the back-and-forth series between two of the nation's top teams League.

CU (12-2, 2-0 Big East) pivoted to its right side while MU (6-6, 2-1) tried to shut down underdogs Ava Martin and Norah Sis.

Middle blockers Elise Goetzinger and Kiara Reinhardt – Wisconsin natives – combined for 11 blocks and 21 kills on 42 swings. Redshirt freshman Jaya Johnson had eight kills on 19 attempts.

Creighton will face Marquette again on November 10th in Milwaukee. The Jays are back in action Friday against Butler in Indianapolis and travel to Villanova and St. John's before their next home game against Xavier on Oct. 18.
