Raven-Symoné is mourning the loss of her father, Christopher B. Pearman, who recently passed away. The former Disney star shared the heartbreaking news on social media, posting a throwback photo of herself as a child in her father's arms. The October 1 headline read: “My life has been long and rich. And the path I'm on began with a dream. I hope he watches with a smile on his face…🕊️#christopherbpearman.”

While Raven-Symoné didn't provide any further details about her father's death, she confirmed the news in a reply to a comment. A follower asked if her post meant her father had died, to which Raven replied, “Yes ma'am.”

A supportive father and mentor

Christopher B. Pearman played a crucial role in Raven-Symoné's career from a young age. Together with his wife Lydia Gaulden, Pearman raised Raven-Symoné and her younger brother Blaize Pearman. When Raven was only three years old, Pearman became her manager and accompanied her as she began acting The Cosby Show.

In an interview in 2010, Pearman proudly spoke about his daughter's independence. “She got to a point where she said, 'Dad, I can run my own company,'” Pearman recalls. “And I think, 'You have the tools.'”

Pearman, a media professional, also worked in public relations and advertising. He directed episodes of That's so Ravenwhich further aided his daughter's rise in the entertainment industry.

Another loss for Raven-Symoné

Tragically, this news comes just a year after the death of Raven-Symoné's younger brother Blaize Pearman, who died of colon cancer at the age of 31. Reflecting on her brother's death, Raven-Symoné shared in December 2023, “He's in a better place now. He is loved and missed.”

As Raven mourns the loss of her father, her friends and family have shown their support. Kenan Thompson expressed his condolences, writing, “Sending love,” while Kimberly J. Brown said, “I'm so sorry, I just lost my dad too.”
