Football: UEFA Champions League results Fact checking is not a political strategy

Hey, look at this! WNBA games can get a little heated even without Caitlin Clark!

Who would have thought?!

After defeating Clark's Indiana Fever, the Connecticut Sun reached the WNBA semifinals and are now in the middle of a series with the Minnesota Lynx.

Now you may remember that one of the most notable names in this opening series between the Sun and Fever was Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, who looked like he accidentally stuck a finger in Clark's eye. This sparked a massive firestorm that even led to 2024 Woke All-Star contender Christine Brennan being dragged into the fray for asking Carrington a very valid question about the incident.

In Tuesday night's second game, Carrington drew attention again after Minnesota's Kayla McBride suffered a hard foul on a fast break.

Carrington had every reason to be under a bit of pressure after that and was immediately held back by her teammates.

Man, the women of the WNBA are still putting on a show, even after a significant portion of the audience has already checked out. Good for you.

However, I must say that I have doubts as to whether the restraint was necessary.

Carrington went down hard, but when she got back on her feet, she didn't take more than a step or two before a teammate gave her a bear hug. I think this is probably a smart move just to make sure she, the WNBA's most improved player, doesn't get into foul trouble.

However, I think a well-timed holdback can also be a bit playful. Maybe get into the collective minds of the Lynx a little.

However, if that were the case, the Sun probably could have used a few more restraints. After the Sun won Game 1, the Lynx won Game 2 77-70, evening the series at 1-1.
