Bank of America customers reported problems accessing their online accounts on Wednesday. Some said they couldn't log in, others reported they were able to log in but were shocked to see their balance was at $0.

Reports of outages at Bank of America began shortly after noon Eastern Time, according to DownDetector, which tracks problems on websites, the Internet and other companies. As of 3 p.m., about 5,000 of the bank's customers had reported problems to DownDetector.

Bank of America did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Does anyone else see their Bank of America account currently showing $0?” one user wrote on the company’s X Help account.

“There's some sort of glitch on the Bank of America website that's showing $0 on all accounts, and honestly I think they owe everyone some money for pain and suffering because that was extremely stressful there for a second “wrote another customer on X.
