Netflix begins streaming the hit show with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating and fans are swooning

Netflix began streaming a hit show that originated on Showtime in the United States on Tuesday, and American fans were thrilled.

When the time-hopping thriller originally debuted in 2021, it was the second most-streamed series in the cable network's history behind Dexter: New Blood.

The streaming giant announced that the first season of Yellowjackets was available by releasing a BTS video in which cast members Liv Hewson, Kevin Alves, Alexa Barajas and Samantha Hanratty DeAnda reacted to the news while on set in Vancouver filmed the third season.

The soon-to-be 29-year-old, who plays the teenage Misty Quigley, said in the clip: “We're excited to welcome you to the Beehive!”

“Yellowjackets,” which boasts a 100% “certified fresh” Rotten Tomatoes rating for its first season, has already been streaming on Netflix in several other countries, including Australia and Chile.

“You better get Trixie and Katya to respond now omg,” Instagram user @aox0m wrote in the comments, referring to Netflix's beloved drag queens.

Instagram user @bigdog1697 commented: “Binge-watching the first season on Netflix and finishing the second season on Paramount+!”

“Only season 1 please, where are 2 and 3?” Instagram user @blingbangs complained.

But the majority seemed to agree with Instagram user @lujobim_, who scoffed: “We don't care, we want season 3 first!”

Production on the six-episode third season was delayed until May due to last year's SAG/AFTRA/WGA strikes, and filming for the cast is almost complete.

“I hosted a very fun dinner for our entire cast (and a few friends and family before wild speculation begins) almost at the end of the season!” Melanie Lynskey – who plays the adult Shauna Shipman – wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.

Two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank has signed on as a recurring guest star for the third season alongside Emmy nominee Joel McHale, who quipped on Instagram, “I'm thrilled to be joining this light romantic comedy series!”
