We return to our ragtag group on Witch Road as they venture further into the mysterious forest around them. After learning how dangerous it is to stray from the path while the ground tries to swallow a member, they continue to find a change in path. What started as a magical bright blue leaf-covered path turns into a sandy path that leads to a beach house. As they hesitantly enter the house, they find that their outfits have changed, as if they're adapting to their surroundings in true “WandaVision” fashion.

They are dressed in different outfits, from casual to more formal.

Here they find their first test, the Test of Water, in the form of a formal card invitation from the “Witches Road” itself. After discussing the solution to the puzzle, they take some wine that is on a table. This begins a mysterious countdown. They soon notice that the wine drinkers are showing symptoms that suggest they have been poisoned. As the coven's potion witch, Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), begins to assess the situation, she recognizes the poison and the urgent need to create an antidote – in the most witchy way possible, of course.

The witches then made their way through the house under Jennifer's leadership to gather ingredients. However, they are all haunted by personalized hallucinations that reveal even more mysterious details of their pasts and motivations. Agatha finally has her own, potentially revealing more truth behind the rumors about how she obtained the Darkhold, the magical tome that she used to increase her powers in WandaVision. With the process completed to the last second, the coven escapes via an ominously revealed exit through the kitchen oven, which leads to a chute back onto the familiar Witch Road forest path, now littered with red leaves.

Episode 3 takes us deeper and deeper into the mysterious backgrounds of the characters. The individual hallucinations expand on small details that we received when meeting these characters, leaving us even more intrigued as each scenario has a devastating impact on each witch. Of course, these only scratch the surface of the mysteries surrounding each witch, leaving us with even more questions (like: Will they really be able to take each character through a full story arc in just six more episodes? ).

The mystery surrounding the “teen” also expands. Previously, we saw how his identity remained hidden from Agatha when his mouth was magically blocked or the sound of his voice disappeared. However, after a confrontation on Witch Street, this veil remains for every member of the coven. They reveal that this is a mysterious magic called Sigil, which apparently fascinates everyone, not just Agatha.

Kathryn Hahn continues to portray Agatha in spectacular form, but the other characters begin to shine in their own right. The show obviously follows the titular witch, but with Agatha being the conniving, scheming, and sometimes downright mean character that she is, the rest of the characters make up for her villainous ways. The characters reveal more and more about themselves and captivate us. This arbitrary circle also seems to be becoming more united, although sometimes out of a need to push Agatha to meet the needs of the group.

REVIEW: The Witches Road cordially invites you to the third episode of “Agatha All Along”.REVIEW: The Witches Road cordially invites you to the third episode of “Agatha All Along”.

I'm a fan of a morally gray protagonist and a story with found family and unlikely allies, and they're starting to get into that groove. With another fascinating and entertaining episode, I continue to look forward to the rest of the series.
