The Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developers have received reports of “hurtful behavior” in the game and want you to please remember to play nice – after all, you could be playing with Henry Cavill.

“It has been reported that some players exhibited hurtful behavior or comments in the game,” the developers say in a new community update. “We will not tolerate this and will take measures to prevent it. First and foremost, we ask that you treat your fellow Space Marines politely, respectfully, maturely, and courteously. You never know how old the other players are and what their day looks like. “How sensitive they may be… Overall, you never know who your brothers and sisters are… It could even be…” – this is where the developers come in grinning emoji for emphasis – “You don’t mean to insult Henry Cavill, bro, no you don’t.

Cavill, of course, is a well-known Warhammer addict, having posted about his love for Space Marine 2 last month. “I love PvP and am really excited to see it grow and expand,” Cavill said. “It has real potential to be absolutely great!” The Space Marine 2 roadmap includes plenty of new multiplayer content, so Cavill's dreams may just come true.

Whatever the case, Cavill remains a nerd icon – a handsome, successful movie star who's also heavily into fantasy books and games. He spent the COVID lockdown playing The Witcher games on the hardest difficulty setting, and he called his role in the Warhammer TV adaptation the “greatest privilege” of his career. How could anyone be mean to this man on the internet?

“Compromises were made”: Space Marine 2's developers admit that the shooter's story was limited by the 3-player co-op mode and that they “could have done a lot more.”
