The Bruins continue their preseason preparation on Saturday and have two promising candidates on the roster.

Boston got its first look at David Pastrnak and the pairing of Charlie McAvoy and Nikita Zadorov when it played the New York Rangers on Thursday. Morgan Geekie showed he's ready for his second season in the Black and Gold, and Mark Kastelic showed the makings of a future fan favorite.

For Saturday's lineup, Jim Montgomery and his staff will take another look at Fabian Lysell and Georgii Merkulov. The forward pair bounced back in the second pre-season game after disappointing in their pre-season debuts.

Fans will also get another look at where Matt Poitras might line up as the coaching staff figures out whether center or right wing is the best spot for the second-year forward.

Boston will have seven defensemen in the lineup, including Jackson Edward, who will make his preseason debut for the Black and Gold.

Joonas Korpisalo and Brandon Bussi will also be in goal for the Bruins for the first time on Saturday. The pair are the top two goaltenders for Boston as Jeremy Swayman continues to negotiate a new contract with the team.
