FWP said bull elk often travel long distances in search of cow elk this time of year.

Moose are found in many parts of Montana, although they are more commonly found in the more mountainous regions of western Montana.

They occasionally wander into populated areas, and their size and unique appearance often cause curious people to gather.

However, moose can be unpredictable and aggressive, especially during the rutting season. Wildlife experts therefore advise keeping your distance.
