Mostly sunny, warm and pleasant

FOX 17 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig's forecast: Expect lots of sun and low/mid 70s today as winds pick up a bit. A small boat warning with waves of approximately 2 to 4 feet is in effect on Lake Michigan from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., followed by a gale warning with wave heights of 6 to 10 feet. With the passage of another stronger front, there will be more showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder this evening into early Sunday morning. On Sunday the wind really picks up with gusts from the west at 30/35 mph. This front will push our high temperatures into the 60s for part of next week. Overall, there are signs that temperatures will generally remain at/above normal until at least mid-October. Normal highs are in the mid/upper 60s. Morning lows will be on the cool side next week. There is a risk of frost for western Michigan as low temperatures will drop into the mid/upper 30s in places next week. Stay tuned to FOX 17 for your latest weather updates.

TONIGHT: It will become cloudy with a chance of showers, possibly a rumble of thunder, especially from Grand Rapids to the north. Lows in the mid 50s. Winds northeast/easterly 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of morning showers, maybe a rumble of thunder. Otherwise it will be mostly sunny in the afternoon. Windy too! Highs in the low/mid 70s. West/northwest winds 15 to 30 mph.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy and cooler. Highs in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy and seasonal. Highs in the mid 60s.
