1 Vanderbilt has suffered a drop in turnovers this season, tied with Army, Eastern Michigan and Oregon State for the fewest turnovers in the country. The Commodores recovered all but one of their seven fumbles in 2024, and Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia failed to intercept any of his 85 passes. Alabama has eight takeaways this season, recovering three of its opponents' eight fumbles and intercepting five passes.

Since Vanderbilt beat Ole Miss 30-7 in its first SEC home game in 2011, the Commodores have opened their home conference with three losses each to Georgia, Ole Miss and South Carolina and once each to Alabama, Kentucky and LSU.

Since then, Vanderbilt has lost at least its first two league games every season. The Commodores opened their 2024 SEC schedule on Sept. 21 with a 30-27 double-overtime loss to Missouri.
