León vs. America: Goles continues result from April 11, 2024 of Liga MX | TUDN Liga MX NFL game in London in Week 5

Alex Pereira successfully defended his UFC light heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 307 on Saturday night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Pereira scored a one-game knockout victory in the fourth round but ultimately prevailed over Khalil Rountree Jr. While Rountree had his moments – even scoring a knockdown in the second round – Pereira's huge third round set the stage for the destructive finish in the fourth.

Here's a look at the finish.

The win gave Pereira his third successful defense of the light heavyweight title and both fighters' performances earned Fight of the Night bonuses.

In the co-main event, Julianna Pena regained the UFC women's bantamweight title with a razor-thin split decision victory over Raquel Pennington. I scored the fight 48-47 in favor of Pena, and two of the three judges agreed.

Here's a look at all the results from UFC 307 and highlights from the other finishes on the card.

All fighters who have received performance bonuses will have a trophy icon at the bottom of their name.

UFC 307 Pay-Per-View card results

  • Roman Dolidze defeated. Kevin Holland via TKO at 5:00 of the first round (Holland was injured in the first round and could not continue)

Holland is tough, and while it was difficult to imagine how his injury occurred, he has earned the respect of his peers and the MMA community. He must have been injured badly enough to abandon the fight if he couldn't continue.

Here is the order in which the injury happened.

  • Kayla Harrison defeated. Ketlen Vieira by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

UFC 307 Preliminary Card Results

  • Joaquin Buckley – 🏆 def. Stephen Thompson via KO at 2:17 of round 3 – Performance of the night

Thompson's style began to cause Buckley some problems. While Buckley was able to secure takedowns, he was unable to control the experienced top fighter.

Eventually, Buckley decides to increase his aggressiveness and uses his explosiveness to close the distance. That huge right hand was the result and led to the knockout victory and the performance bonus.

  • Iasmin Lucindo defeated. Marina Rodriguez by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
  • Alexander Hernandez defeated. Austin Hubbard via split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28)
  • Cesar Almeida defeated. Ihor Potieria by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27)

UFC 307 Early Preliminary Card Results

  • Ryan Spann – 🏆 def. Ovince Saint Preux via submission at 1:35 a.m. in round 1 (guillotine) – performance of the evening

Spann desperately needed this win.

He was on a three-fight losing streak, but Saint Preux was injured in the right hand, which opened the guillotine, ending the fight and earning Spann the performance bonus.

  • Tecia Pennington defeats Carla Esparza by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
  • Court McGee defeats Tim Means via submission at 3:19 of round 1 (rear-naked choke)

In the opening bout, local hero and UFC veteran Court McGee Means dominated, securing victory with a rear-naked choke finish. I'm not sure how long we'll see either of these mainstays in the UFC.
