McDonald's has confirmed it is bringing back the cult-favorite McRib sandwich after nearly a decade.

The iconic menu, which was last on the fast food chain's menus since 2015, makes a triumphant return on October 16th.


The sandwich's revival is the result of years of petitions and begging from Brits on social media.

However, it will be time-limited, meaning McDonald's enthusiasts will have to act quickly if they want to enjoy the McRib.

Thomas O'Neill, head of menu at McDonald's UK, described the McRib as “more than just a sandwich” and described it as “a phenomenon”.

First released in 1981, the treat consists of a boneless rib-shaped pork patty slathered with BBQ sauce and garnished with onions and cucumbers.

The meaty snack, served in a lightly toasted bun, enjoyed unrivaled popularity when it was first introduced.

It was canceled four years after its debut, but has had several comebacks over the years.

Since it was last enjoyed by fans in 2015, many have flocked to social media calling for its return.
