American Airlines passengers intervene in suspected domestic violence incident

American Airlines passengers on a flight from Miami to North Carolina this week intervened in an alleged domestic situation between a man and a woman who were sitting in first class and apparently traveling together.

In the video posted on social media by Epoch times As reporter Arjun Singh reported on Wednesday, several passengers and a flight attendant can be seen crowded together in the aisle next to the two seats at the front of the plane. At least two of the male passengers could be heard shouting at the man.

“Don’t fucking touch her. I don't give a shit. No, now. You messed up,” one of the men was heard saying. A second man added: “Get your damn hands off her right now. If you touch her again you’ll be fucking arrested.”

“That sucks, you can’t touch her,” the first man added.

The woman can then be heard inaudibly trying to explain the situation to the group before being helped to another seat across the aisle as some of the passengers began to return to their seats. “No, you weren’t attacked,” she shouted at her traveling companion in response to his protests. “I put my hand over your mouth to make you shut up.”

“A violent incident occurred this evening on my (American Airlines) flight AA 310 from Miami to Charlotte,” Singh captioned the video. “Several men jumped forward to subdue another man in first class who got into an argument with the lady next to him.”

He added that although the flight arrived 26 minutes early, they would not be getting off that quickly.

In a follow-up video, Singh captured the scene as police officers boarded the flight from the tarmac. Several seated passengers can be heard cooperating with one of the officers, with one claiming that “he grabbed her pretty hard.” The officer then tells the passengers, “I mean, it happened on the flight, it's outside of our jurisdiction.”

It is unclear whether any arrests were made, but American Airlines has since released a statement regarding the incident.

“Two customers traveling together were involved in an altercation aboard American Airlines Flight 310 flying from Miami (MIA) to Charlotte (CLT) on October 2,” an airline spokesperson said of the New York Post. “Local law enforcement responded and escorted the customers from CLT Airport.”

“We do not tolerate violence and thank our team members for their professionalism in handling a difficult situation,” the statement continued.
