Since falling to No. 25 after their season-opening loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, the Clemson Tigers have steadily climbed up the AP Top 25.

After their 29-13 win over Florida State, the Tigers (4-1, 3-0 in ACC) could be on the verge of a move into the top 10.

After defeating Appalachian State in the home opener, the Tigers moved from No. 25 to No. 21 heading into their game against NC State (Clemson had a bye week in between).

After defeating the Wolfpack, the Tigers moved up to 17th at the start of their game against Stanford, with the Tigers also winning.

Clemson entered the Florida State game as No. 15 and secured a win highlighted by five Nolan Hauser field goals that helped maintain an early 17-0 lead in the first quarter, built on two touchdown passes by Nolan Hauser Cade Klubnik was built.

The win was Clemson's first road win at Memorial Stadium and its first true road game. The loss to Georgia came at a neutral site in Atlanta.

So how far could the Tigers rise when the new AP Top 25 is announced on Sunday? Well, the chaos at the top of the poll might help clear that up, as five of the top 11 teams in the country lost on Saturday.

No. 1 Alabama lost 40:35 to Vanderbilt in Nashville, a complete surprise. The Commodores defeated a No. 1 team for the first time ever. It was a victory so profound that Vandy fans tore down a goal post, marched it more than two miles through Nashville and threw it into the Cumberland River.

No. 4 Tennessee went to Fayetteville and was defeated by Arkansas 19-14. It was the Volunteers' first loss of the season.

No. 9 Missouri fell from the ranks of undefeated teams with a terrible 41-10 road loss to No. 25 Texas A&M. The Tigers will certainly fall out of the top 10, but how far back they fall is up for debate.

The same goes for No. 10 Michigan, which suffered its second loss of the year with a 27-17 loss to Washington in Seattle in Big Ten play.

Then No. 11 USC lost for the second time, falling to unranked Minnesota 24-17.

With five top 11 teams on the losing side, this opens up room for voters to switch to the teams just below, including Clemson.

The Tigers started the season in 14th place. It is likely that they would surpass this place. But there is competition.

No. 12 Ole Miss dominated South Carolina 27-3. The losses to the Rebels could catapult them into the top 10.

Then there's the matter of the idle teams ahead of the Tigers – No. 13 Notre Dame and No. 14 LSU. Will voters support them even though they didn't play along?

Given the chaos, it's possible the Tigers could climb into the top 10. It's more likely that the Tigers will finish just outside the top 10 in their game against Wake Forest next Saturday.
