Patriots' Jabrill Peppers Arrested | AP News Kaleb Brown will not play for Iowa football in the 2024 season

Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season is officially underway.

To help you make your toughest lineup decisions, below are my Week 5 fantasy football rankings. Switch between standard, half PPR (points per reception), and full PPR to see where players rank in your league's format rank.

Our team at USA TODAY Sports Network also has all your fantasy football needs covered. Looking for the latest gaming news? We have it. Want to know who the best starts and sits of the week are? We have an article about it. We also have fantasy defense rankings, kicker rankings, and a trade value chart to help you with all your trading decisions.

Given the volatility of this league, and fantasy football in particular, these rankings will be updated up to half an hour before games begin on Sunday afternoon. Let's get down to business.

Week 5 fantasy football quarterback rankings

  • UPGRADE: Jordan Love Finished Week 4 as QB2 against the Vikings and faces a much easier test against the Rams. To date, Los Angeles has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
  • UPGRADE: Justin Fields was the only signal-caller to surpass Love last week, totaling 367 yards and three scores (two on the ground) en route to 32 fantasy points. Coming off last year, Fields was a top-eight quarterback in half of his last 14 starts. He'll be able to compete well with a Dallas team that gives up the ninth-most fantasy points and second-most rushing yards at the position.
  • Stock drop: Trevor Lawrence has finished QB16 or worse in each of the first four weeks, and has failed to finish higher than QB10 in 16 of his last 19 games. The Colts have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, but keep your expectations in check.
  • Inventory drops: Sam Darnold currently relies on an unsustainable touchdown rate of 10.6%. The highest value since 2020 was 6.9%. There's a good chance he'll come back down to earth against a Jets defense that has allowed the fewest fantasy points to the passer since the start of last season.

Week 5 fantasy football running back rankings

  • STOCK UP: D'Andre Swift tore the Rams apart in Week 4 with a 165-yard, one-touchdown performance. He is now averaging 18.7 touchdowns since Week 1. That volume should work well against a Panthers team that just gave up 170 yards and three touchdowns to Chase Brown and Zack Moss.
  • UPGRADE: Alexander Mattison is finally ready to lead the Raiders' backfield Zamir White was listed as out with a groin injury. Mattison has played well in a limited role and is currently ranked in the top 15 among running backs in yards after contact on the ground and through the air. He is a top 24 player based on volume.
  • Stock Drop: Brian Robinson Jr. will play on Sunday after being listed as questionable with a knee injury, but he won't have the RB1 upside he had last week. In half-PPR formats, Robinson has only scored higher than RB10 once in his last 17 games, and the return of Austin Ekeler dents his lead. It doesn't help that the Browns have given up the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing backfields.
  • Stock drop: Zack Moss had just one more ball than Chase Brown in Week 4, and a shared workload may not have been enough to get it done against Baltimore. Through four weeks, the Ravens have limited opposing backs to 2.7 yards per carry, the best in the league.

Week 5 fantasy football wide receiver rankings

  • UPGRADE: Amari Cooper was on the wrong end of the phantom holding call last week, preventing him from being a top-five receiver for the second week in a row. In Week 5, he'll face a Washington secondary that has given up the most fantasy points to wideouts this season.
  • UPGRADE: Dontayvion Wicks will be the primary beneficiary of Christian Watson's injury, but Romeo Doubs' suspension further limits Green Bay's targets. Wicks was targeted a whopping 13 times against Minnesota in Week 4, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns. An exciting matchup with the Rams awaits you in Week 5.
  • Stock drop: DJ Moore ranks seventh among receivers in targets, and yet his best mark this season was WR31. The game plan and presence of Keenan Allen in Week 4 resulted in a season-low six goals, and his prospects against the Panthers don't look much better this week.
  • Inventory is falling: Jakobi Meyers Last week he turned 10 targets into 5 receptions for 49 scoreless yards, and next up is a matchup with Patrick Surtain II and the Broncos. He's better off staying on the bench.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings

  • UPGRADE: Travis Kelce is in prime position to reclaim elite fantasy tight end status with Rahsee Rice out of the lineup, and he could very well be in the overall TE1 discussion. The second-year receiver ranked second in the league with a 33.7% target share through Week 3.
  • UPGRADE: Tucker Power should also benefit from Green Bay's narrowing target tree. With Watson and Doubs out of the lineup, Kraft is a safe top-10 option at a weak position.
  • Inventory reduction: Dalton Schultz finished Week 4 as TE18 with Tank Dell not on the roster. The veteran tight end is likely eliminable in most leagues.
