The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their inactive players for their Week 5 Sunday Night Football matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

Quarterback Russell Wilson, who made some progress this week in his return from a calf injury, is still not quite healthy enough to play against the Cowboys. He was listed as questionable on Friday after practicing in a limited capacity all week.

Wilson has been inactive in all five of the Steelers' games so far this year, while also serving as the emergency No. 3 quarterback behind Justin Fields and Kyle Allen.

Running back Jaylen Warren also won't be able to keep up against Dallas. He suffered a knee injury in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers, which forced him out of contention and kept him out of Pittsburgh's Week 4 contest against the Indianapolis Colts.

Warren did not participate in practice all week, nor did running back/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson, who will also miss the Cowboys game.

He was taken out of the game in the second quarter in Indianapolis and did not return with an ankle injury. Both Patterson and Warren were listed as “out” in the Steelers' final report of the week on Friday, so their status is no surprise.

Aaron Shampklin is the only healthy running back on the active roster behind starter Najee Harris, making him the primary backup for touchdowns after making his NFL debut last week.

Tight end MyCole Pruitt has not played or practiced since Week 2 due to a knee injury and will miss the game against Dallas. He also received the same award in the final report.

Edge rusher Alex Highsmith left Pittsburgh's Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers with a groin injury and will not play for the second straight week. He has not practiced since his injury and will likely miss additional time beyond today's competition.

Rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson will be back on the pine despite not being listed on the injury report all week. He was healthy enough to play against the Colts as well, although he was ultimately listed as inactive while he worked his way back into Pittsburgh's offensive game plan.

Guard Max Scharping, whom the Steelers released from the Washington Commanders' practice squad this week, is the latest inactive player.
