Rams takeaways: The defense is better, but the offense falters against the Packers

Rams running back Kyren Williams regained control of the football after fumbling with it for a while, but he lost another fumble against the Packers.

As the Rams advanced to the Packers' four-yard line in the first quarter and Matthew Stafford fired a fourth-down pass that fell incomplete, the trend of struggling to score touchdowns from inside the 20-yard line was once again evident .

However, the Rams scored the next two touchdowns when they entered the red zone.

Kyren Williams scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter and Stafford threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Demarcus Robinson in the fourth quarter.

Williams ran for a season-high 102 yards on 22 carries. He scored seven touchdowns and rushed for at least one in every game.

However, Williams lamented the fumble he lost that ultimately led to a touchdown for the Packers.

“I have to be better when I know I'm in traffic, when I know I'm getting boxed in and I'm still trying to get more yards to box the ball in,” Williams said. “That’s the most important thing, and I didn’t do that.”

Rookie Blake Corum, a third-round draft pick, swapped with Williams for the first time and rushed for 25 yards on five carries. He also had an eight-yard reception.
