Kamala Harris is trying to use media attacks to gain an electoral advantage over Donald Trump

Kamala Harris kicked off what she called a week-long media storm with an appearance Sunday night on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

During the interview with Alex CooperHarris addressed issues such as abortion, reproductive health care, housing and student debt relief.

Harris said Trump's repeated claims that Democrats support abortion “after birth” was a “lie” and that it was insulting to suggest that women in their ninth month of pregnancy would choose to have an abortion.

She also rebuked the governor of Arkansas Sarah Huckabee Sanderswho suggested that Harris “has nothing to keep her humble” because she doesn't have children.

“I don't think she understands that there are a lot of women out here who don't strive to be humble,” Harris said, adding, “We have our family by blood and then we have our family by love.” And I have both.”

Harris said economic conditions are preventing people from starting families and suggested her goal of building three million new homes by the end of her first term would help.

Harris said: “I think that most Americans want leaders who understand that the measure of their strength does not depend on who you defeat. The true measure of a leader's strength depends on who you promote.”

Cooper made a point of inviting Trump to the show if he wanted to appear.

Kamala Harris was warned that their attempt to win the key battleground states Michigan And Pennsylvania It risks being undermined by its failure to engage with unionized workers in the same way that Joe Biden has done in the past.

Jonathan KottA Democratic strategist and former Senate aide told The Hill website that it would be difficult for Harris to follow the current president in this regard.

“Joe Biden is the most pro-union president ever,” he said. “He was the only president to attend a union strike line, he is an over-the-top union supporter.”

Another Democratic strategist, Ray Zaccarotold the website: “Biden has had a special relationship with work throughout his career. I don't think Harris' approach to labor is particularly lacking, but there are probably some style and relationship differences that she needs to overcome.”

Zaccaro warned that “there is a movement within the world of work that is more connected to MAGA, protectionism and nationalist identity,” adding that some union voters are increasingly “supporting some of the messages that the Trump campaign is pushing.”

“You have time to prepare — all day Monday, probably all day Tuesday to make sure your hurricane preparedness plan is implemented,” DeSantis said. “If you are on the barrier islands on the west coast of Florida, just assume you will be asked to leave the country.”

AP reports that DeSantis on Sunday expanded his declaration of a state of emergency to 51 counties, saying Floridians should prepare for more power outages and disruptions and make sure they have a week's worth of food and water and are ready to hit the road go.

The former president spoke at his rally in Juneau, Wisconsin last night Donald Trump said he was aiming for a “mandate” victory in the November election. The current polls are close, suggesting that the result is unlikely to be the same for either candidate.

CNN's senior data reporter Harry Ducks The latest roundup of polling in the key swing states that will decide the election suggests that Kamala Harris is ahead in the battleground Great Lakes states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, while Trump is ahead in the southern Sunbelt states looks stronger.

However, Enten notes that any evidence on one or two points in these states is “well within the margin of error and too close to conclusive.”

As it stands, he suggests Harris would end up with “276 electoral votes,” slightly more than the 270 she needs to win, but he said if the polls had underestimated Trump's support – like in 2020 – he could romp home. If, as in 2022, the polls underestimate the Democratic Party's support, it could reach as many as 319 electoral votes. In short, all bets are off.
