Monday is the last day to register to vote before Election Day, and registration is close for some voters in Kentucky.

As of Friday, more than 3.5 million people in the commonwealth are registered to vote, with 47% of voters registered as Republicans and 43% registered as Democrats, according to a news release from the Kentucky Secretary of State.

In September, 24,536 Kentuckians registered to vote, marking the highest monthly total this year. However, this number is lower than the 54,494 people who registered in September 2020, before the last presidential election.

In July and August, 14,502 and 15,239 people registered to vote, respectively, most of them Republicans.

The number of Democratic voters fell slightly by 579 voters in July, but increased by 1,128 voters in August.

Voters can register at sos.ky.gov until 4 p.m. local time.

Election Day is November 5th. No-excuse in-person voting will take place from October 31st to November 2nd.
