A Frontier Airlines flight landed safely after pilots spotted smoke and “declared an emergency” as the plane attempted to land at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Flight 1326 from San Diego was “in the process of landing” at LAS on Saturday afternoon when “pilots noticed smoke and declared an emergency,” Frontier Airlines said in a statement. The Federal Aviation Authority said in a statement that the emergency landing occurred “after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.”

Video footage captured the incident, showing flames beneath the plane and a plume of smoke following it as it came to a stop on the runway.

“The aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew were evacuated via air stairs,” the airlines said, adding that there were no injuries.

Airport officials told CNN that the plane “experienced a hard landing that essentially burst the tires.” The airport did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for an update on the incident.

“Fire & Rescue extinguished a fire on the right engine,” FAA said.

There were a total of 190 passengers and seven crew members on board the flight from San Diego, according to the statement.

CNN reported that the Federal Aviation Authority ordered a ground stop at the airport until 7 p.m. on Saturday following the incident.

Frontier said in its statement that the cause of the fire was under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board will also investigate the incident, the agency said in a post Sunday.
