Scheduled lineup: October 8th in Seattle Man from Hawaii warns of suspected theft on Ticketmaster pages

Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate did not play in the Buckeyes' 35-7 win over Iowa on Saturday.

Tate was sidelined with an unspecified injury. His status was uncertain before kickoff as the Buckeyes listed him as questionable in the availability report they submitted to the Big Ten.

During warmups, Tate went out in uniform and was a full participant, lining up to play with the rest of the starting offense. However, he only watched from the sidelines and often didn't have a helmet with him.

“If we had to bring him into the game, he definitely could have played,” Buckeyes coach Ryan Day said, “but we just felt like keeping him was the right thing to do.”

Day added that he hopes resting Tate will allow him to play at full strength for next week's highly anticipated game at Oregon, a potential matchup of top-five teams.

Without one of their starting wide receivers against Iowa, the Buckeyes started in a formation that included two tight ends – Gee Scott Jr. and Will Kacmarek.

When they featured sets of three wide receivers, Brandon Inniss or Bryson Rodgers were usually on the field along with Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith.

Both second-year receivers had key catches. Inniss caught three passes for 29 yards, including a 21-yard reception on a fourth-and-2 during the Buckeyes' third-quarter touchdown drive that made it 28-0.

On the Buckeyes' first touchdown drive, Rodgers made a pass between two defenders for a first down. They faced a third-and-8 at their 35-yard line.
