Former Giants safety Jabrill Peppers denies any wrongdoing after his arrest First Puck Drop: It's going to be a 10-hour party for the Utah Hockey Club's first game

After both National League Division Series ended in a one-game tie on Sunday, the two AL wild-card teams will look for road wins in Game 2 to even their series and return to Game 3 with home field advantage.

First, the Detroit Tigers send AL Cy Young favorite Tarik Skubal to the hill in Cleveland against the Guardians. The 27-year-old went six innings and struck out six Astros en route to a wild-card win at Houston in his first start of the postseason. In the first game of this ALDS, the Guardians cruised to a 7-0 victory behind a three-run home run from Lane Thomas and 4 1/3 innings of no-hit ball from their bullpen.

In Monday's nightcap, the New York Yankees will look to take a 2-0 lead against the Kansas City Royals in the Bronx. Alex Verdugo was the star of Game 1 for the Bombers, with an RBI single in the seventh inning and a highlight-reel catch that saved a run and helped the Yankees to a 6-5 victory. Cole Ragans receives the ball for the Royals in Game 2 against Carlos Rodón for the Yankees.

Here's how to watch Monday's ALDS action:

Live22 updates

  • Guardians reserve Cade Smith singled out the Tigers in the sixth period. Three outs on 10 pitches, including a three-pitch strikeout by Wenceel Pérez to end the inning. In the middle of the sixth round it was still 0-0.

  • The Guardians have a hit. Josh Naylor hit a laser from Tarik Skubal to center field and recorded a standup double in the fifth.

Jhonkensy Noel then got to first with a pitch hit off the top of his right hand. He was in obvious pain but stayed in the game.

But Skubal induced a double-play ball on his next pitch to end the inning. We are still goalless until the fifth matchday.

  • The Tigers yielded four hits and walked twice but yielded no runs in five innings. Meanwhile, the Guardians are looking for their first baserunner in Tarik Skubal.

  • Cade Smith gets the third out of the inning with a strikeout and the game remains scoreless after the end of the fifth inning.

Justyn-Henry Malloy threatened for the Tigers but was thrown out when he tried to hit a double on Matthew Boyd before Smith replaced Boyd on the mound. Jhonkensy Noel struck out Malloy with a hit from right field.

  • Matthew Boyd is down after 4 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and two walks but struck out five and stranded baserunners in scoring position with strikeouts in consecutive innings.

It was a valiant effort to keep the Guardians in the game as their batters remained helpless against Tarik Skubal. Cade Smith stands on the mound in relief.

  • Tarik Skubal just shut out the Guardians' team after eight pitches in the fourth inning. Ends the inning with his seventh strikeout. It's perfect until four o'clock. He's still looking for support in a 0-0 game.

  • The Tigers threaten again in the fourth round. Outfielder Wenceel Perez hits a leadoff double against Matthew Boyd and reaches third base with one out. But Boyd finished the inning with two strikeouts to preserve the scoreless tie.

  • Takik Skubal has now thrown 20 scoreless innings in a row since the regular season. He shut out the Astros in six innings in the wild-card round.

  • Tarik Skubal pitches quickly and confidently. He primarily fires fastballs that the Guardians' hitters can't hit. Three more strikeouts in the third to bring his tally to six.

He's making deals and the Guardians are still looking for their first baserunner. The fourth round is 0-0.

  • Detroit secured four baserunners in three innings, two walks and two hits. But so far there is no run support for All-Star ace Tarik Skubal.

  • The Tigers get two baserunners with a single and a walk in the third inning but stay off the scoreboard. Guardians starter Matthew Boyd ditches the runners on first and second, sending the game to the end of the third period in a 0-0 tie.

  • Tarik Skubal records his third strikeout with a swinging strike 3 against Jhonkensy Noel. For the Tigers starter, that’s six plus points and six minus points. We go into the third inning scoreless.

  • Matthew Boyd allowed an infield single to Parker Meadows but otherwise pitched a clean second inning. There is no score until the end of the second.

  • The TBS transmission error now appears to have been resolved.

  • Tarik Skubal is off to a great start. Pitched a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts in the bottom of the first inning. The game is tied 0-0 before the start of the second round.

  • There appear to be some technical difficulties with the TBS Tigers-Guardians broadcast. I'm seeing several reports of the broadcast freezing for viewers.

  • Matthew Boyd draws a walk but gets out of the first inning unscathed. 0-0 until the end of the first half.

  • Starting pitcher Matthew Boyd makes his postseason debut for the Guardians against a Detroit team he played for eight seasons.

  • It's an ideal day for October baseball in Cleveland – 63 degrees and partly cloudy.

  • Cleveland was able to get a 7-0 win in Game 1. Run predictions may be much more difficult to achieve today with Triple Crown winner and AL Cy Young favorite Tarik Skubal for Detroit.
