Luis Tiant, the beloved Red Sox pitching legend, has died at the age of 83 Qantas plays a sexually explicit film on every screen during the flight and apologizes

trainer Jim Montgomery had named Joonas Korpisalo his starter on night one, but that was a week ago when the chance Swayman would be available seemed slim.

“He has so much energy and I thought that added to the practice and I thought he looked smart,” Montgomery said. “He’s the potential goalie (Tuesday night). We are undecided.”

That would be perfectly fine with Swayman.

“I hope so. “I would love to do that,” he said, adding, “I feel like I can put myself in a really good position to be ready to perform when my name is called.”

Swayman said he has full confidence in the coaching staff and will go along with whatever they decide.

“If they feel like I’m ready, then they know I am,” he said. “So that’s what I want, to let them know that they know what’s great.”

As for his first full workout since signing his eight-year, $66 million contract, Swayman looked like he didn't miss a beat. He moved well, tracked pucks and appeared quick as he made a “hazing” lap.

As the post-practice stretch came to an end, Swayman's teammates began banging their sticks, shouting his name and imploring their goalie to start a solo sprint.

“I just signed and got it over with, so a hot lap was needed and I think it was the fastest lap I've ever done. I’m happy about it,” said Swayman, blowing a kiss in the air as he crossed the imaginary finish line.

“I think it's something that (Nikita) Zadorov told him to do it and I liked that. “It was kind of cool and I’m pretty sure Sway had fun with it,” he said David Pastrnak. “He’s a pretty good skater. We know he’s actually pretty quick for a goalkeeper, so I’m impressed.”

The practice capped a wild 24 hours for Swayman, which included a three-hour flight Sunday night, the first extended time he spent with his teammates since the spring. It was as if no time had passed.

“I was welcomed with open arms and it just shows what kind of team we have here and all these people,” Swayman said. “I spoke to them throughout the entire process. Every day I got two to three calls and just chatted because I knew exactly what was going on around the camp and everyone said once you come back it will be like nothing. It will be a seamless transition. So exactly what it was. And once again it’s a blessing.”

No weather delay

With Hurricane Milton eyeing the Gulf Coast (or who?), the NHL said the Bruins-Panthers matchup in Sunrise (on the East Coast) remains on schedule.

“In all cases like this, we monitor weather reports and follow the guidance of local authorities,” an NHL spokesman told the Globe.
