Battle Royal Off the Grid now available in Early Access for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC The entire city of St. Augustine must be evacuated

The man who once gave Aaron Rodgers a jar of honey from the Queen's garden recently returned to England and was stung. And now he's stabbing randomly.

The 2-3 Jets have fired coach Robert Saleh, according to multiple reports. Saleh, 45, had a 20-36 record in more than three seasons on the job.

It feels premature. It feels desperate. It feels dysfunctional.

Still, apparently someone had to be held responsible for the embarrassment that owner Woody Johnson experienced at his second home. The former US ambassador to the UK (who, we hear, wants to do this again if Donald Trump is re-elected) watched his team fall behind the Vikings 17-0, then bounce back and almost win, but ultimately lost the game.

Without the defense's efforts – Saleh's specialty – it would have been a failure. The Jets held the Vikings to 17 offensive points. A week earlier, Denver had scored just 10 points.

The offense is the problem. And while Saleh is the head coach, Woody essentially turned the offense over to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Jets hired his best coaching friend, Nathaniel Hackett. They added several player BFFs in Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard. They are currently evaluating whether to add Rodgers' BFF, receiver Davante Adams.

The offense is a shit show. Rodgers looks old. Older than 40. He was missing a year, but it feels more like he fell asleep under a tree for twenty years.

But dysfunctional teams do dysfunctional things. And leave it to one of the most dysfunctional ownership groups to blame the defensive head coach for the misguided decision to go all-in with Aaron Rodgers.

Jets fans should actually hope for a Trump victory. If that leaves Woody out, they may have four more years to try and make things right. Before he comes back, of course.
