The Kansas City Chiefs can boast another win after five games, and Andy Reid's team holds an undefeated record through week six of the 2024 NFL season. Luckily for them, a bye week gives everyone much-needed time to rest before the most important part of the year.

Where do the back-to-back Super Bowl champions compare to their competitors? Let's take a look at some Week 6 NFL power rankings from the major networks as the bye week approaches.

No change in this week's power rankings The 33rd team. Kansas City now has perhaps the NFL's most challenging opening schedule behind it and can focus on refining things during the bye and coming back stronger.

The Kansas City Chiefs have yet to play a complete game and have a glaring weakness at receiver with Rashee Rice (knee) likely out for the entire 2024 season. Still, they are 5-0 and have played a difficult schedule. The good news is that their defense continued to shine and they actually ran the ball effectively against the Saints. The Chiefs are on a bye in Week 6 and need to sort out their red zone issues, but given the schedule, they have to be happy with their start. – Marcus Mosher

This week is the Bleacher Report The analyst quartet of Gary Davenport, Kristopher Knox, Maurice Moton and Brent Sobleski recognize an unexpected duo that delivered great production in Week 5.

It wasn't Mahomes who was the engine of Kansas City's offense in Week 5 – he managed more than 300 passing yards but didn't throw a touchdown pass. Instead, it was time machine time. Kareem Hunt turned the clock back to his Chiefs' prime, carrying the ball 27 times for 102 yards and a score. JuJu Smith-Schuster looked like he did in 2018, catching seven passes for 130 yards. And Kelce was, well, Kelce, with nine grabs on ten targets for 70 yards. It was a game that was far more one-sided than the final result suggests. The Chiefs had more than twice as many yards as the Saints. It was also a message to the rest of the league. Injured stars or not, Kansas City is still the best team in the NFL. – B/R NFL Staff

It seems that no matter the circumstances, the Chiefs will still find a way to be successful. Monday night's win over the New Orleans Saints was a perfect example of this.

Take everything away from this team and the offense will still beat you with JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kareem Hunt and Xavier Worthy. If you take out Mahomes in the end zone, the defense will casually shut down what was at one point the strongest offense in the NFL this season, strangling the QB and sending Derek Carr to the medical tent. We obsess over the newness of the NFL in 2024 and the fresh faces while ignoring the very real possibility of a Super Bowl three-peat. – Conor Orr

While the Chiefs managed to get by without Rashee Rice on Monday (and then some), this current group probably shouldn't be counted on to repeat that performance every week. NFL.comThe weekly power rankings agree with this, as Eric Edholm believes there is room for improvement.

Kansas City battled New Orleans for four quarters, fighting to win the game but never really letting it be in doubt. The Saints couldn't get their running game going, which caused their offense to get a little flat-footed. In general, it was a good night for the post-Rashee Rice offense in Kansas City, as the Chiefs gained 460 yards, picked up 28 first downs and controlled the clock for nearly 40 minutes.

But it was also bad in that they went just 2 of 7 in the red zone and New Orleans stayed alive thanks to an end zone pick by JuJu Smith-Schuster. It was a big night for JJSS (seven catches for 130 yards), but this loss would have left a sour taste if the game had turned around. Travis Kelce was the man on Monday, with a nice crackback block to start, nine catches and a cool pitch to Samaje Perine late in the first half. However, that shouldn't stop the Chiefs from adding another receiver – preferably a red zone weapon – even if Davante Adams doesn't think it's likely. – Eric Edholm

Another week at No. 2 for Kansas City The athleteIn week six, the reigning champions are behind the (also) undefeated Minnesota Vikings.

Kansas City's most productive fantasy wide receiver this year was Rashee Rice, who ranks 67th overall and 23rd among receivers with 64.9 points and is unlikely to play again this season due to a knee injury. After that, it's freshman Xavier Worthy, who is 84th in scoring (58.1 ppg). And yet the Chiefs, who completed 12 passes to three tight ends on Monday night, are undefeated. – Josh Kendall

Bucky Brooks previously released his list of the top ten teams Monday Night Footballso Kansas City is at the top anyway. Luckily for him, Reid's team justified this decision by doubling New Orleans' home score.

A tough matchup against the Saints on Monday night could test the Chiefs' mettle as back-to-back champions. The loss of Rashee Rice could derail a passing game that lacks a true No. 1 wideout on the perimeter. While Travis Kelce has started to turn heads this season, the 35-year-old will need to use all his tricks to fend off Father Time as a TE1 at the end of his career. Without a quality option to support Kelce as a co-headliner, the Chiefs' passing game will be dependent on the perennial Pro Bowler's efforts. – Bucky Brooks

Pete Prisco keeps his power rankings short and sweet, with the Chiefs once again in first place.

No rashee rice. No big deal. The team had a great plan to attack the Saints and Patrick Mahomes threw for over 300 yards. They are doing well as they make their way to say goodbye. – Pete Prisco
