Apple AirPods Pro 2 just dropped to their best price ever

AirPods Pro 2 are Apple's premium in-ear headphones. As part of Amazon Prime Day this fall, prices have dropped so much that they're currently available to Prime members for less than the latest regular AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation.

This is the best price Amazon has ever offered for AirPods Pro 2. It's about $20 off previous prices and over 80 pounds off the regular price of $249.

In the current sale, the earbuds are available for just $168.99, a 32% price cut from the regular sticker price. So what's the catch?

Well, you need to be an Amazon Prime member to get this offer. So if you're already a Prime member, there's no catch at all.

However, if you don't, you will need to log in. That costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. You may feel that this rather diminishes the benefit of this low price, and you're right, except that joining comes with a 30-day free trial and you can cancel at any time.

Smart buyers sign up for free and cancel before the 30 days are up. You can even cancel once you've completed your purchase and continue to enjoy Prime benefits for the remainder of the 30 days. And not to overdo the service, you also get free delivery on more than 300 million items, some of which can be delivered to customers in the right locations the same day. Of course, Amazon hopes you don't cancel, but you can.

The AirPods Pro 2 have an incredibly high price. After all, the new AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation cost $179, about $10 more than that price. Since they are new, there are no discounts on the new AirPods 4 yet, and that is currently the case for the model with ANC on Amazon. The entry-level AirPods 4 are discounted from $129 to $119, an 8% price cut.

But here's the thing: While noise cancellation is great on the AirPods 4 with ANC, it's much better on the AirPods Pro 2, which also have other advantages over the AirPods 4. If you've even thought about spending $179 on AirPods 4, go for AirPods Pro 2 while you can purchase them at this price.
