The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Connecticut Sun by a score of 88-77 in a decisive, winner-take-all Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals.

While the Lynx were playing on their home court, the Sun's poor performance could be the cause of the game. Connecticut performed lackluster and was outscored 53-34 at halftime. Although they played much better in the second half, the game was never in doubt for Minnesota, who will now play the New York Liberty in the WNBA Finals.

Perhaps the most disappointing performance came from Sun star Alyssa Thomas. She finished the game with just 7 points on just 2 of 6 field shots and added just 2 rebounds.

Thomas is also being criticized on social media for allegedly quitting her team. And while it's hard to confirm, an intense exchange between her and teammate DiJonai Carrington during a timeout on X went viral and it doesn't look good.

X user @slowlyslide posted the video of the exchange between Carrington and Thomas with the caption, “It's threatening out there on the tanning bed.”

While the entire conversation cannot be heard, at one point a seemingly excited Thomas tells Carrington, “You need to do more on the post-action screen now.”

Then Sun coach Stephanie White ended the scrum by saying, “We've got to force them to make some damn calls, y'all.”

While these types of interactions are common among teammates, coupled with Connecticut's dissolution on the court this offseason will leave a sour taste in the mouth of Sun fans.
