Tropicana commemorates the demolition with huge fireworks displays and drone displays

The Tropicana, a famous hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip, ended its nearly 70-year history with a breathtaking show… thanks to fireworks, drones and 2,000 pounds of explosives.

Check it out… before the massive amount of explosives exploded, the famous resort thanked Sin City for its many years by setting off colorful fireworks and hosting a drone presentation – consisting of 555 drones that created a casino chip design the Tropicana logo.

As the light show came to an end, the Tropicana stood upright for a few moments – before falling to the ground in less than 30 seconds… bringing with it the hotel's iconic history Louis Armstrong And Frank Sinatra Performances, Folies Bergère shows and more.

The demolition took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning, marking the city's first implosion in years. The property was demolished to make way for an MLB stadium before the Athletics moved from Oakland, California to Las Vegas.

Arik Knowlesthe Tropicana's general manager and vice president of hospitality, urged the crowd Wednesday to view the demolition not as an end, but as “the beginning of something even bigger.”

While a small, invite-only event toured the implosion, scores of tourists reportedly flocked to the Nevada city to view the damage. Not only did room prices rise in hotels near the demolition site, neighboring Mandalay Bay even hosted a rooftop watch party.
