Detroit – The Tigers play their fifth postseason game of 2024 on Wednesday, but their first at home.

In fact, it's their first postseason game at Comerica Park in a decade since they were swept out of the American League Division Series by the Baltimore Orioles in 2014.

They return to Comerica Park in this year's ALDS tied with the Cleveland Guardians with one win each, thanks to Kerry Carpenter's three-run home run in the ninth inning of Monday's 3-0 win in Cleveland.

Carpenter will start second in the lineup for Game 3, with the Tigers going left-handed over the Guardians' veteran right-hander Alex Cobb. Cobb has made just three starts for the Guardians this season. Cobb last worked in the postseason for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2013.

Keider Montero is the Tigers' opener after going two innings in the 7-0 loss in Game 1. In that game, Montero, who was not on the playoff squad against Houston, allowed one hit and struck out from three.

Wednesday's game starts at 3:08 p.m. and is expected to attract a sellout crowd of more than 44,000.

Tigers legend Alan Trammell throws out the ceremonial first pitch.
