Danny Amendola recalled his time as a wide receiver for the New England Patriots during his Hair Metal Night appearance on “Dancing with the Stars” last night.

The two-time Super Bowl champion danced in the show's fourth round of competition on Tuesday after Monday's Soul Train Night.

For Tuesday's show, each star performed routines to famous rock songs for the Hair Metal Night. Kiss frontman Gene Simmons was a guest judge.

Amendola and his professional partner Witney Carson danced to a hit by the rock band Bon Jovi, whose frontman is known to be friends with Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Danny Amendola and his partner Witney Carson danced a Paso Doble to Bon Jovi's “Livin' On A Prayer” for Hair Metal Night on Dancing with the Stars last night.

Because of the friendship between Jon Bon Jovi and Robert Kraft, the song has special meaning for New England fans. Bon Jovi even encouraged people to sing along to the song at games at Gillette Stadium.

“We have a lot of great memories playing soccer to this song,” Amendola said. “Most importantly, music, dance and sport bring people together.”

Danny Amendola scored a 30/40 for his Paso Doble on “Dancing with the Stars” last night, earning seven out of ten from Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Guest judge Gene Simmons gave him nine out of ten.

Combined with his Soul Train Night results, Amendola's overall score for both nights was 60/80. He finished fifth overall among the other stars.

Last night's episode of Dancing with the Stars ended with a double elimination and actors Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts were sent home.

Elimination was decided by a combination of the jury's scores and viewer voting from the final two episodes.

Who is Danny Amendola?

Danny Amendola is a retired NFL wide receiver who played for 13 seasons, including five for the New England Patriots. He won two Super Bowls with the team.

He also played for the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans before announcing his retirement in 2022.

Since retiring from the NFL, the 38-year-old has been an assistant coach with the Las Vegas Raiders for one season. He also appeared on the military training show “Special Forces: World's Toughest Test” in 2023.

He is originally from The Woodlands, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech.
