A University of Kansas professor is on leave after a video emerged of him musing during a lecture on how to frame and execute men who don't want to vote for a woman president.

“That's what frustrates me. “There will be some men in our society who refuse to vote for a potential female president because they believe women are not smart enough to be president,” the unidentified lecturer complained in the clip.

“We can line up all these guys and shoot them. You clearly don’t understand how the world works.”

As he wandered around the lecture hall, the man sighed audibly, then suddenly stopped and seemed to realize that he had been caught on tape.

“Did I say that? “Scratch that from the recording, I don’t want the dean to know I said that,” he joked, although it’s not clear how sincere he was.

Footage of the moment quickly went viral and sparked widespread outrage, although the class had no audible reaction to the man's comments.

The University of Kansas said in a statement Wednesday that it was “aware” of the video and that the instructor “made an inappropriate reference to violence.”

“The instructor sincerely apologizes and deeply regrets the situation. His intention was to highlight his advocacy for women's rights and equality, and he recognizes that he has done a very poor job of doing so,” KU added.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), a graduate of the university's medical school, demanded that the professor be shown the door.

“The University of Kansas must fire this professor immediately. “Anyone who says that people who don't vote for Kamala Harris should be 'lined up and shot' is completely insane and should not be around students or in academia,” Marshall said in a statement .

“The KU should take quick action to counteract this promotion of political violence.”

Fellow Rep. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), who has a law degree from KU, said the comments were “disturbing and inappropriate.”

“There should never be calls for violence anywhere in the classroom,” Moran wrote on X.

“We need to tone down the political rhetoric and treat each other with respect and civility, and that’s especially true for someone tasked with teaching our young people.”

Fears of political violence have increased in recent weeks following two assassination attempts against Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate.
