Rafael Nadal announces his impending retirement from tennis Detroit Red Wings vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: Time, TV channels, more

The Georgia Bulldogs will be without the services of wide receiver Colbie Young for the foreseeable future after head coach Kirby Smart announced that Young is suspended indefinitely after being charged with assault and battery on an unborn child.

Young was arrested by Athens-Clarke County police Tuesday morning after he allegedly got into a heated argument with his ex-girlfriend that culminated in him grabbing her from behind.

A police report obtained by Dawgs247 states that a visual examination of the alleged victim revealed that “she had a bruise and discoloration on the lower right side of her chest where it meets her stomach.” She also had redness on her right flank.”

This situation with Young put Kirby Smart in a situation he has found himself in far too often in recent years, namely having to deal with criminal charges against one of his players.

He addressed Young's situation during the SEC Coaches conference call on Wednesday.

“I had to talk to him this morning,” Smart said, according to On3. “He has been suspended indefinitely until this legal matter is resolved. We cannot comment further on the details but had a good meeting with him this morning.”

As you are no doubt aware, the trouble with Johnny Law has been a recurring problem for the Bulldogs for some time, most notably a variety of driving offenses, including ones that resulted in the death of recruiting analyst Chandler LeCroy and offensive lineman Devin Willock.

“We are committed to continuing to educate our players and doing our best to ensure they understand the seriousness of these incidents,” Smart told media on Wednesday. “It's very unfortunate, but we want to take responsibility for decisions, on and off the pitch, and of course this is a really difficult situation. But he is suspended indefinitely until the legal matter is resolved.”
