Meet the Mets

The Mets had chance after chance to score against Phillies starter Ranger Suárez, but couldn't overcome his curveball. It was an insane offensive performance, but luckily José Quintana was almost able to get there. He gave up only one run in the fourth due to a misplay by Mark Vientos.

With all runners left on base, things weren't looking so good for the Mets until Jeff Hoffman became erratic in the sixth. The Mets loaded the bases for Francisco Lindor and he sent Citi Field into a frenzy when he hit a grand slam off Carlos Estévez, who had just entered the game. David Peterson held the fort until the ninth when Edwin Díaz entered. He walked the first two batters he faced, and with a two-out, Kyle Schwarber walked to the plate for the tying run. Díaz hit him with a 101 mph fastball to win the series and send the Mets to the NLCS.
