As Florida begins cleanup from Hurricane Milton, Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, recreational facilities and more will remain closed until at least Thursday.

In a statement, Disney said the closures also affect tickets to events such as “Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party,” for which refunds will be issued.

Disney said limited dining concessions are currently available to people in its properties, and the company expects some services and attractions to remain closed through Sunday.

Is Disney World in Orlando closed due to Hurricane Milton?

The Walt Disney World theme parks are currently closed.

The Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Springs theme parks will be closed Wednesday afternoon and will remain closed Thursday. Disney resort transportation has also suspended operations. Minnie Van and Mears taxi services are limited.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park and mini golf courses are also closed on Wednesday. Disney's Blizzard Beach water park was already closed for the season. The resort says ESPN Wide World of Sports has no events scheduled until this weekend.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa began closing late Wednesday morning and are expected to remain closed through Sunday, according to the resort.

What is Disney World's hurricane policy? Can I get a refund?

Whenever the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane warning for Orlando, as it does for Milton, or wherever guests are staying within seven days of their scheduled arrival, guests can reserve vacation packages or hotel reservations booked directly through Walt Disney Travel Company canceled or changed without penalty. Unused tickets retain their value and guests can change ticket details for later use.

Were people evacuated to Disney World because of a hurricane?

During previous hurricanes, the company has also made offers to residents who need a safe place to evacuate and hide during the storm.

During Hurricane Nicole in 2023, Disney offered evacuees 50% off Disney resort hotel stays on select dates, adding that the company had strict check-in times.

Is Universal Studios closed due to Hurricane Milton?

According to the park's website, Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal CityWalk are closed today.

Halloween Horror Nights were canceled on Wednesday and Thursday but are expected to resume on Friday depending on the storm's impact. Universal's website describes how guests can redeem their HHN tickets for canceled days for other events this season.

Universal Orlando hotels remain fully operational.

If the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane or tropical storm warning for the Orlando area or a guest's residence within seven days of scheduled arrival, guests may cancel or change vacation packages, hotel reservations or park tickets booked directly through Universal without penalty.

Universal Orlando's website states that they “cannot make any guarantees about the weather, but your travel plans can still be stress-free.”

“In the event that the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane or tropical storm warning or a state of emergency is declared for the Orlando area or where you live, you may contact our team in advance within seven days of your arrival to arrange your Universal Parks & Resorts Vacation Package to reschedule or cancel only hotel rooms and Universal Orlando theme park tickets booked directly with Universal Orlando without incurring cancellation or change fees.
