The New England Patriots will visit the San Francisco 49ers with a move at cornerback.

The organization placed Alex Austin on injured reserve and signed Isaiah Bolden from the practice squad to the 53-man roster as part of a series of Saturday moves.

Austin, 23, was left out of the final injury report due to an ankle problem that sidelined him all week. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound Oregon State product has appeared in eight games, including his first NFL start, since arriving in Foxborough last November. Over a span of 225 snaps on defense and 42 snaps on special teams, one interception and nine tackles were logged. He had previous stints with the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans after being selected 252nd overall in the seventh round of the 2023 draft.

Bolden, 24, survived the league's 53-man roster deadline in August before being released and re-signed to the practice squad when drafted. The 6-foot, 200-pound defensive back and returnee from Florida State and Jackson State ended his rookie year on injured reserve in the preseason. His first snaps of the regular season are still ahead of him. Pick No. 245 in the seventh round, Bolden marked the final selection in the Patriots' 2023 draft class.

In later moves, tight end Mitchell Wilcox and defensive tackle Trysten Hill were called up from the practice squad for Sunday's game at Levi's Stadium. Both veterans are scheduled to return next week.

Wilcox, 27, was added to the practice squad after being released amid roster cuts. The 6-foot-1, 250-pound tight end from South Florida entered the NFL in 2020 as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals. During his time in the AFC North, he played 48 games, starting nine of them. Wilcox caught 29 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown during that span before being non-tendered as a restricted free agent in March.

The 26-year-old Hill acted as a support for the start shortly after his release after the 53-man deadline. The former Central Florida star, who was first signed to the practice squad last fall, has yet to be called up. Hill played seven snaps along the defensive line in his 2024 debut. Selected 58th overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2019 draft, the 6-foot-3, 310-pounder has also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. In 32 games, including five starts, he has 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

The Patriots also ruled out offensive tackle Vederian Lowe and guard Michael Jordan before traveling to Santa Clara.

Sunday's kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
