San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is active for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

Samuel missed the 49ers' loss to the Los Angeles Rams last weekend due to a calf injury. He had limited participation on Thursday and Friday after not practicing on Wednesday and was listed as questionable to play.

“I came back feeling pretty good and we went to practice the last two days and still felt good,” Samuel said Friday. “So we’ll just see how it goes.”

His calf injury occurred late in the Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, leading 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan to assume Samuel would miss “a couple of weeks.” But Shanahan was pleased with his progress this week.

“I think with the information I've been given, I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be and the time frame worked out pretty well,” Samuel said Friday.

The 49ers also have tight end George Kittle (hamstring) back, while left tackle Trent Williams is also active after a toe injury kept him from playing.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga is inactive after injuring his ankle in practice on Thursday. He will miss his third game of the season.

Hufanga returned last week after recovering from a torn ACL in his right knee last season. The Niners signed safety Jaylen Mahoney from the practice squad for added depth, although rookie Malik Mustapha is expected to get most of the snaps in Hufanga's place, with George Odum also available.

ESPN's Nick Wagoner contributed to this report.
