Willy Adames reacts after the altercation with Jesse Winker: “We won’t give in” 'The Rings of Power' Season 2 Finale Explained

Things seem to be getting worse for Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Many viewed the 2024 NFL season as a life-or-death year for Watson after a pair of disastrous campaigns early in his tenure with the Browns.

However, Watson didn't deliver early, and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has seen enough.

During a recent episode of “First Take,” Smith lashed out at Watson, saying he was “very disgusted” with the Cleveland signal-caller and thought the Houston Texans version of Watson was gone.

“I don’t know what the hell has happened to him since that time,” Smith said, referencing Watson’s days as a Texan. “But the only thing we know about him is that the cases against him were dropped, but so was his game. Because we haven’t seen this quarterback since he left Houston.”

Of course, Smith was referring to the sexual misconduct allegations against Watson several years ago, which were all settled.

However, new allegations surrounding Watson have emerged, so his legal troubles may not be over just yet.

As for his on-field performance, the 28-year-old has been below average through the first three games of 2024, throwing for 551 yards, three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions while completing 57.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 71 ,4.

Given all the injuries the Browns offense has suffered this season, it's difficult to place all the blame on Watson. But considering how poorly he played in his first two years in Cleveland, he doesn't exactly have much room to play. The fully guaranteed $230 million contract he signed with the Browns when he was acquired in 2022 doesn't help either.

Cleveland is 1-2 and will face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
