It's all over.

With the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves splitting Monday's doubleheader to decide the two remaining wild-card spots in the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks have been eliminated from the MLB postseason.

The Diamondbacks finished the regular season 89-73, the same record as the Mets and Atlanta, but lost the regular season series tiebreaker to both. So Arizona was eliminated after the Braves rebounded from a wild 8-7 loss to the Mets in Game 1 on Monday and beat the Mets 3-0 in Game 2.

Atlanta will play in San Diego on Tuesday in Game 1 of its NL Wild Card Series, and New York will travel to Milwaukee to face the NL Central champion Brewers in the other series, also beginning Tuesday.

The Diamondbacks failed to make the postseason a year after appearing in the World Series and winning the NL pennant. They have to complain about their final home game of the season, in which they lost 4-2 to the Giants and Padres and were shut out twice.

Their 10-9 loss to the Brewers on Sept. 22 in Milwaukee, a game in which the Diamondbacks opened 8-0, will continue into the offseason.

The players gathered at Chase Field on Tuesday for a light practice to watch the second game of the Mets-Braves doubleheader and learn their fate. A celebration of sorts was scheduled when a team won the doubleheader, opening the door for the Diamondbacks to advance to the wild card round.

A handful of people watched from the Chase Field stands as the Braves took the final out of the game.
