Robert Griffin III wants the Chiefs to trade for Raiders WR Davante Adams NESN's Sophia Jurksztowicz is taking a vacation

It was a piece that had been in the works for some time, but Monday night was the right time and place.

“This play has been going on for a long time and we just never got in the right situation to call it,” Goff told reporters after the game. “I think we've actually decided that way before in a game, and if it's not the right look then I'll get over it, but it was the right look.”

Detroit's high-octane, high-octane offense hasn't been able to shine on the scoreboard in the first three weeks, scoring no more than 26 points.

Campbell wasn't worried, however, and Monday's performance was evidence of why he remained confident that the Goff-led group would eventually get back on track.

“We knew it was going to be offensive,” Campbell said. “Everyone did it. That's why you can't worry about this and that. You can't panic. You just work and clean everything up.”

While Goff executed his passes accurately in the first half, it was the running game of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs that powered the offense, with the tandem scoring three points that led to a 21-7 halftime lead.

After the Seahawks cut the deficit to 21-14 in the third quarter, Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson added more sparkle.

“We had it this week,” St. Brown said NFL Network's Taylor Bisciotti. “If we had the right alarm, we would do it.”

For a moment, Goff was tied for the team lead on the season with a touchdown catch.

That changed, however, when he delivered a laser shot over the middle to Williams while fending off a Seahawks pass rush, and the speedy wideout took it to the house. It was Goff's 15thTh direct conclusion of the game.

On his 17thThHe returned the favor with an 8-yard TD throw to St. Brown.

Williams and Brown are now tied for the season lead with two TD catches each, just one ahead of Goff.

As for the name of St. Brown's scoring play against Goff, it's called Alcatraz, and the quarterback isn't entirely sure why.

“It’s been called Alcatraz for two or three years now,” Goff said. “I don’t think I ever asked (Johnson) why. There's probably a reason. I probably should know, I just don’t know.”

Regardless of the origin of the play's name, there was no escaping Goff on Monday night.

He was the quarterback who had more touchdown catches than incompletions.

He was the Detroit Lion who pitched a perfect game for the Detroit Tigers the night before the Major League playoffs began.

He was the QB who didn't get a game ball or a perfect passer rating, but he revitalized the Lions' offense en route to victory.

“Great. Yeah, really cool,” Goff said of the 18-on-18 win. “It’s a cool thing I think, but I’m glad we got the win.”
