Osaka's path to redemption leads through Gauff in Beijing USC vs. Minnesota Odds: Early Point Spread Released, How to Watch

India 285 for 9 Dec (Jaiswal 72, Rahul 68, Mehidy 4-41, Shakib 4-78) and 98 for 3 (Jaiswal 51, Kohli 29*, Mehidy 2-44) batting Bangladesh 233 (Mominul 107*, Bumrah 3-50) and 146 (Shadman 50, Bumrah 3-17, Jadeja 3-34, Ashwin 3-50) by seven wickets

Less than 24 hours after igniting an almost unthinkable urge to win in a game in which only 35 overs had been bowled in the first three days, India's batsmen completed the task they started by reaching their target of 95 in just over a minute undercut hour. The highlight of India's performance on Tuesday was another record-breaker on the fourth day; Ravindra Jadeja's triple hit sparked a slump for Bangladesh in a prolonged first session in which they were bowled out for 146. India lost three wickets in the chase before Rishabh Pant scored the winning runs in the chase, set up by a 43-ball fifty from Yashasvi Jaiswal, and extended their lead at the top of the WTC points table with a 2-0 series win.
The 312 balls India batted for in this Test are the second fewest India have ever faced – and the fourth fewest overall – to win a Test match, behind the 281 against South Africa in Cape Town earlier this year.
Bangladesh started the day at 26 for 2 and with Jadeja opening the day in the company of Akash Deep, they suffered a collapse of 7 for 55. R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah also finished the day with three each. Jadeja broke the stubborn stand of 55 between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman Islam for the first time when he struck in three consecutive overs, also sending back Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh improved from 91 for 3 to 94 for 7. Bumrah then eliminated the bottom team. There were no demons on the field, no vicious turns, just tight and slippery bowling from Jadeja and the pressure mounting.

Bangladesh were 26 behind at the start of the day's 98 overs and it was Ashwin who struck first. After using the sweep effectively for his unbeaten century in the first innings, Mominul Haque failed at the same shot as he passed a catch to leg slip to make it 2-2. Many would have expected Bangladesh to buckle under pressure, but Shadman responded with a series of boundaries against Ashwin. Against Ashwin, he hit three confident cover attacks and a back-foot cut for four fours in seven balls, giving Bangladesh confidence and the lead.

A few loose deliveries from Mohammed Siraj allowed a few more boundaries to leak; He was beaten to two fours each by Shadman and Shanto in his opening game, although one of them would have been a chance had the third slip occurred.

It is possible that Jadeja was the last to get the ball because there were only left-handers in the crease. But he only needed two balls to bat. Shanto missed a reverse sweep on his first ball against Jadeja and lost his leg stump before the bowler gained extra lift on a pitch that was kept low, leaving Litton behind at cut for 1. Between these two overs, Akash Deep bowled one just after the batter's half-century, Shadman reached the ball and the push to gully ended his 101-ball stay.

Jadeja was now traveling all over Bangladesh. In his third over, he sent Shakib back with an innocuous delivery that was slowly bowled through the air, which Shakib only parried back to give Jadeja a record of 2.2-1-3-3 early in his game.

With Bangladesh trailing by 7 for 94, Rohit Sharma brought Bumrah back and the spearhead immediately got the job done. His third ball in this refresher period was a beauty that gave Mehidy Hasan Miraz the lead. Only Mushfiqur Rahim delayed the inevitable and extended the lead to 100 points. He fended off the quicks and hit two consecutive fours off Jadeja.

Bumrah caught Taijul Islam lbw and extended the first session just before midday before Mushfiqur frustrated the hosts even more. He started farming the strike when there was just one wicket left but again it was Bumrah who made the difference. Returning for an over before lunch, his slow 125 kmph offcutter took a big hit from Mushfiqur on the last ball of the session as he wasted all his hard work.

India once again came out in full force as Bangladesh failed to pick up the pace in their search for goals. Rohit missed a big swing to the leg side in the first over and when he took a swing to middle, he found square leg well back in Mehidy's second over. Shubman Gill was caught by Mehidy for £6, a performance similar to that which kept Rohit low and dismissed on Monday. Elsewhere, India continued their chase thanks to Jaiswal's third half of the series. He practiced his shots and swings with the back foot and came down the track to hit a few boundaries, including a six. His brisk 58 with Virat Kohli almost took India through, except Jaiswal missed a swing into the offside and only three runs were needed.
