Get ready for some sports betting nightmare fuel. Among bettors in the Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins The NFL's Week 4 Monday Night Football game suffered one of the worst bad beats you've ever seen. (Of course, this also means that over bettors were able to score a lucky victory.)

The over/under was 37 and the Titans defeated the Dolphins 31-12. At first glance, going over the total score by 5.5 points doesn't seem like such a bad shot. However, how things went overall is the story. Not to mention there were 12 points scored in the first half in this game.

Gambling or fantasy football implications are the only reasons to watch this failed sporting event. In fact, I turned off the game until my OutKick writer and gamer degenerate Dan Zaksheske wrote me something to the effect of: “If the Under loses in this Titans-Dolphins game, I will go on 'suicide watch.'

Back then, I was watching my own losers, like the other game in the Week 4 Monday Night Football doubleheader, the Seattle Seahawks vs. the Detroit Lions. But because misery loves company, I wanted to experience some schadenfreude. So I turned on the Titans-Dolphins toilet bowl and, man, it didn't disappoint.

The worst part of this shot is the “blue balls” that under bettors got because Miami almost held Tennessee out of the end zone to prevent the over from cashing. The Titans ran the ball as they were ahead by 12 points and the Dolphins didn't have a timeout after the two-minute warning.

Tennessee ran the ball right up the middle three times and Miami's defense held the Titans to just two yards, leading to a fourth-and-goal at the 4-yard line. Since the field goal didn't matter, Tennessee opted to score it on fourth down, giving under bettors a chance. But the under's hope of cashing out died when the Titans played RB Tony Pollard was looking for a meaningless score.

Sure, “Tennessee +2.5” was never in doubt. But because of the nonsense in the last two minutes, millions of dollars changed hands. This is what makes the NFL the best product on television. Even though this game sucked, the betting implications kept people watching.
