Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith “played a heck of a game” in Monday night’s loss to Detroit.

The Seahawks started the game with frequent throws, later working with Kenneth Walker III and the running game, but both the game plan and the situation called for a lot of passes, and Smith delivered.

“I think that’s exactly how the game turned out,” Smith said. “Of course we want to be aggressive, that’s something we always want to do. When you're behind in a game, (offensive coordinator Ryan) Grubb has tremendous confidence in us and in myself. I have no problem with him putting. “The game in my hands is what I hope for, actually, every time I go out there , and if that's the case, I just have to do what I have to do to make the right plays. Line, that’s a lot of pass protection out there against a really good defensive line and I thought they played great and that really gave us a chance.”

En route to a key play, Smith completed passes to ten different players, including two or more receptions to nine players. DK Metcalf led the way with 104 yards on seven catches, becoming the first player in franchise history with 100 receiving yards in three consecutive games. Smith also completed eight passes to Jaxon Smith-Njigba for 51 yards and five to Tyler Lockett for 61 yards, while rookie tight end AJ Barner scored his first career touchdown with a 9-yard catch in the second quarter.
