LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Seven years have passed since the Oct. 1 shooting in Las Vegas, considered the largest mass shooting in modern American history.

That night, 58 people would die and over 500 would be injured at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, although the death toll would rise to 60 in the aftermath.

As the valley prepares to remember the victims of the violence, here is a list of events happening around Clark County:

Sunrise memorial ceremony

A memorial sunrise ceremony will be held at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater in downtown Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County Fire Department and the Resiliency & Justice Center will co-host the event.

The event is open to the public and features live music, honor guard participation from multiple Southern Nevada agencies, and remarks from Gov. Joe Lombardo and LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill.

A minute's silence will be observed during the event to honor those who died.

Blood donation

Vitalant and the Vegas Golden Knights are once again partnering for the annual Memorial Blood Drive on October 1st.

Those interested could donate blood at the City National Arena from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The aim of the campaign is to honor and commemorate the victims of the October 1, 2017 shooting.

“In addition to the shooting victims, this annual blood drive also honors our Las Vegas community members who previously volunteered to donate blood on October 1, 2017. The blood they donated replaced what was used to treat the victims. “It is only through our wonderful community that we can maintain a stable blood supply,” said Erik Hill, Regional Director at Vitalant.

Donors can make appointments here.

Bell ringing

Beginning at 10:05 p.m., Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman and City Communications Director David Riggleman will read the names lost the night of the shooting.

The City of Las Vegas announces that the memorial ceremony will be held at the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden.

The event starts around 10:05 p.m. Goodman and Riggleman will read the 58 victims who died the night of the shooting.

A bell rings and a candle is lit to commemorate each deceased person.

FOX5 plans to attend these events and offer a live stream. Come back to this story for updates.
