If you celebrate Taco Tuesday, the first Tuesday in October is now extra special.

Thanks to Taco Bell's 2023 petition, National Taco Day, a day celebrating the easy hand-held snack, will officially be moved to the first Tuesday in October after years of being held on October 4th.

The fast food giant has teamed up with the National Day Calendar to officially postpone the holiday.

“For years we have celebrated National Taco Day on October 4th, but we always felt there was a greater opportunity to align it with something even more special – Tuesday,” said Marlo Anderson, founder of National Day Calendar his website. “Thanks to Taco Bell’s efforts, we are excited to officially move National Taco Day to the first Tuesday in October, creating the most Taco Tuesday of all Taco Tuesdays.

To honor the humble taco and commemorate the official move, Taco Bell is celebrating $1 tacos for 10 hours on Tuesday and exclusive offers through October. Taco Bell's $1 deals start at 10 a.m. Tuesday and run until 7 p.m

While tacos are simply corn or flour tortillas, it's what we fill and top with that makes them special. Americans eat a lot of tacos.

According to national holiday archives, more than 4.5 billion tacos are consumed annually. Whether you prefer hard-shell or soft-shell tacos with a variety of fillings and toppings, Tuesday is the day to order tacos or make them at home.

Here are the taco deals Detroit metros are offering on Tuesday. Some have offers all month long:
