Connections is the popular daily word puzzle from The New York Times.

Published by Wyna Liu, the game is such a success that it only comes second Wordle as one of the newspaper's most played games.

Below you will find instructions on how to play the game as well as some practical tips to help you solve today's game.

The answers to Tuesday's puzzle can be found at the end of the article. So scroll carefully if you want to find out for yourself.

How to play “Connections.”

Players were given 16 words and must divide them into four categories based on how they think the words might be connected. For example, a previous one Connections The puzzle included the words “Catering,” “Host,” “Plan,” and “Throwing” in the “Help Throw a Party” category.

Each of the four categories is marked with a color to show you the level of difficulty. Yellow is the easiest category, followed by green, blue and purple. But don't be fooled, the puzzles are rarely easy and use a range of possible associations from homophones and puns, among other things.

Sometimes words can overlap and belong to more than one category. Therefore, patience is key when determining your options.

“My best advice is to wait as long as possible before guessing,” Liu said Newsweek in June. “Maybe you look at the board and have fully identified the category by seeing five words that could belong in that category.

“Don't try to guess the four words in this category, because even if you know what the fifth element is, you don't know which of the four it might not be,” which would ultimately waste a turn.

If players get stuck, they can press the shuffle button, which shuffles the words where they appear on the screen.

The user has four attempts to correctly guess all groups. If you don't get all four connections, the answers and corresponding difficulty color will be displayed at the end.
