Titans stick with Will Levis after Mason Rudolph leads team to first win: 'There is no controversy'

The Tennessee Titans will not make a quarterback change during the bye week.

Titans head coach Brian Callahan reiterated his support for Will Levis on Tuesday, a day after the quarterback left Monday night's game against the Miami Dolphins early due to a shoulder injury. Substitute Mason Rudolph stepped in and led the Titans to a commanding 31-12 win.

Although Rudolph looked solid and Levis struggled all year, Callahan insisted Levis will be the Titans' starter for their game in two weeks against the Indianapolis Colts as long as he is healthy.

After throwing a poor interception on the first drive, Levis landed awkwardly on his right shoulder as he plunged for a first down on Tennessee's second possession of the game. He left there and was replaced by Rudolph the rest of the way.

Details of his injury were not disclosed, but it is not believed to be serious or would keep Levis out for several weeks. The team is also heading into its bye week, giving them additional time to recover.

Rudolph came into the game and easily led the Titans to their first win of the season. He finished 9 of 17 for 85 yards. Tony Pollard led them on the ground with 88 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Although Rudolph didn't put up outstanding numbers, it was the first time since the 2021 season that the Titans scored more than 30 points in a game.

Levis has thrown six interceptions, tied for the most in the league, and four touchdowns in four games.

While Levis' start has been less than great and Callahan is clearly struggling, just look at his outburst toward the former Kentucky star after he made a serious fumble in a loss to the New York Jets last month –, Levis is still his regular player.
