Billion-dollar Ukraine funding vs. “no further aid for Hurricane Helene”: Are the Internet’s attacks on Biden justified? Jimmy Kimmel has a theory about Trump's live debate posting spree

Not only was Donald Trump the only living president — sitting or former — not to deliver a video message for Jimmy Carter on Tuesday in honor of the 39th president's 100th birthday, but he also made no mention of the historic occasion despite speaking about Carter's presidency spoke of an attempt to criticize Joe Biden.

On Tuesday, the Carter Center released excerpts of messages of support from Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden that were shown at Carter's birthday concert at the Fox Theater in Atlanta last month. The concert, a fundraiser that has so far raised $1.2 million for the Carter Center's mission to “build peace, fight disease and create hope,” will air Tuesday on Georgia Public Broadcasting.

Clinton, Bush, Obama and Biden also posted about Carter on their official social media accounts. At the time of publication, Trump hadn't even done that.

Instead, during his campaign in Waunakee, Wisconsin, Trump used Biden's administration to mention Carter – and not in a good way.

“Jimmy Carter is the luckiest man because Jimmy Carter is considered a brilliant president by comparison,” Trump said after calling Biden “the worst.”

Carter, who left office in 1981, had the longest term of any former commander in chief and is the only former president to live to 100 years old. He entered hospice care in February 2023.

Carter, who was seen surrounded by family and friends in his backyard on Tuesday while being greeted with a military flyover, downplayed his birthday. What is more important to him, he has made clear through his family, is the ability to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.
